How to exclude PowerRouter Running User from Salesforce Duplicate Rule?

In this article you will understand how to exclude PowerRouter Running User from Salesforce Duplicate Rule.

PowerRouter provides different merge settings. Based on the settings there are updates on master record, from child record field values, made before merging records which can fail due to Salesforce duplicate rules.

If Salesforce Duplicate Rules alerts are active based on creating or updating the duplicate, it may fail the merge process as well as the conversion through PowerRouter.

Steps to set up condition in Salesforce duplicate rules to bypass PowerRouter Running User:

  1. Go to Salesforce Setup and search for Duplicate Rules.

  2. Click into the specific Duplicate Rule you would like to add an exclusion for.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Under the Conditions section, create a condition that excludes your PowerRouter Running User from the rule.

    1. Field: Select Current User: Username (You may select a different Current User field if desired, such as Current User: Alias, or Current User: Email).

    2. Operator: Select not equal to.

    3. Value: Enter the Username for the PowerRouter Running User. This is typically in the form of an email address.

  5. Click on Save.

If you have other rules, you will need to include this exclusion rule with an AND condition along with your other rules.
