Setting up Duplicate Settings

This article will help you understand how to set up duplicate settings for leads and contacts.



In Salesforce duplicate leads and contacts may be created. Powerrouter helps you to identify duplicates based on certain criteria and perform some function on them. 


Steps to set up duplicate settings:

  • Click on Setting in the left navigation bar.
  • Open Duplicate section under General Settings. 
  • Powerrouter allows you to find duplicates between:
    • Lead and Lead: Select Lead from dropdown on the right side to set up duplicate rules between leads.
    • Lead and Contact: Select Lead - Contact from dropdown on the right side to set up duplicate rules between leads and contacts.
    • Contact and Contact: Select Contact from the dropdown on the right side to set up duplicate rules between contacts. 
  • To use salesforce duplicate rules, enable Use Salesforce default duplicate rules checkbox. 
  • To use powerrouter duplicates rules, enable Use PowerRouter default duplicate rules checkbox. 
  • Provide the condition of basis of which records will be considered as duplicates.
    For instance, 
    Email = Email, when Lead - Contact is selected from dropdown. This means if Lead’s Email and Contact’s Email are the same, they will be considered as duplicates. 
  • Click on Save.
