Customizing Merge Options

This article will help you understand how to set up merge settings for leads and contacts.

 

After finding duplicates, Powerrouter can merge those records based on certain rules. Merge settings allows you to select predefined rules based on which merge will happen.


Steps to set up merge settings for lead:

  • Click on Setting in the left navigation bar.

  • Open Merge section under General Settings. 
  • Powerrouter allows you to merge duplicate records of:
    • Lead: Select Lead from dropdown on the right side to set up merge rules for leads.
    • Contact: Select Contact from the dropdown on the right side to set up merge rules for contacts. 
  • For merging two records, one record has to be treated as master record and the other record as child record.
    • To make the current lead inserted as master, enable Select incoming object as master checkbox. 
    • To make an already present record as master, enable Select object found duplicate as master checkbox. 
  • Powerrouter provide four options for creating the resultant record after merging:
    • Overwrite all fields from master: The resultant record will have all field values of the master record.
    • Overwrite all fields from child where value is not null: The resultant record will have all field values from child record where master record’s field values are not null.
    • Only overwrite field from child if master is null: The resultant record will have all field values from child record where master record’s field values are null.
    • Choose custom fields from child: The resultant record will have all field values from the child record which are selected. Click on Add. You can add more than one field. 
  • Click on Save.
