How to add a custom object in PowerRouter?

PowerRouter has traditionally been utilized for routing standard objects such as leads, accounts, contacts, opportunities, and cases. However, it now offers the capability to route custom objects as well.


In this article, you will gain an understanding of how to add a custom object in PowerRouter to enable routing for it.

Steps to add a custom object:


  • Open the PowerRouter Lightning tab and click on the Settings icon.
  • Navigate to 'Custom Object Routing' under the General tab.
  • Under statistics, the following metrics are displayed:
    • Total Number of Routing Objects: This indicates the total number of custom objects that can be added to PowerRouter in your organization.
    • Eligible Routing Objects: This signifies the total number of custom objects that have been added and are eligible for routing in PowerRouter in your organization.
  • To add a custom object for routing, click on the ‘Add Object’ button.
  • Select the desired custom object from the dropdown menu labeled ‘Select Object’ for routing in PowerRouter.
  • Once the custom object is selected, the dropdown menu for 'Select Name Field' appears, which is used for choosing the name field of the custom object.
  • Click on Save to confirm the changes.
